Celebrate Richmond 950 is a year-long programme of events and projects for and by our community. The celebration is for sharing throughout Richmondshire as well as with visitors who come from further afield to enjoy our lovely town for a day, a week or perhaps even longer!

Local groups, individuals and the organisers of Celebrate Richmond 950 have worked to produce a programme of events that we feel sure will offer sufficient variety to offer something of interest for everyone. More events are in the pipeline, so please watch this space.

All are invited to take part in some or all of the many events to celebrate the birth of Richmond castle and our favourite Yorkshire market town.

There are one-off events from concerts to talks, markets to brewing, golf to garden openings through to larger projects that have come about whilst planning this year of commemoration. These include a new woodland of 950 trees, community archaeology, a children’s writing project and a new exhibition showing how Richmond has communicated through the centuries.

Drink to this anniversary year with two celebration brews from Richmond Brewing Company – Red Rufus and Celebrate 950. These will be available as cask and bottled from the brewery at The Station and selected local pubs.

Some events may also be available on Zoom or YouTube. To find out what, where and when, please look at the individual events.

All events are subject to current Covid-19 restrictions and may be altered to accommodate the guidance and rules in force at the time.

Events may be added as the year progresses – please keep visiting this site - www.richmond950.co.uk - for up to the minute information.
